It's common at retail for employees to tout new products or advertised specials with buttons and badges. But some companies have taken it a step further by clothing employees in shirts and vests with removable advertising panels.

Offered by a company called ELM, its clients include Universal Studios, the Indianapolis Colts and several Shell locations in the Midwest. A test at retail in 2006 resulted in a 16% increase in sales over a two-month period.

The additional revenue generated by the ads could be an ideal selling point for promotional distributors looking to break into the uniform market.
