Atlanta, GA, September 18, 2009 – Good deeds coming together deserve notice.  Backpack Buddies Club, responding to a need for school supplies for less fortunate kids, is always seeking donations to fill up backpacks with school supplies and comfort items.

“We received a call from Backpack Buddies Club and when we learned about the program, we thought about recent misprints and some of the overruns our suppliers experience throughout the year.  It seemed like these backpacks would be the perfect home for pencil and eraser overruns,” said Judi Lowery, LogoSurfing.com’s Customer Care Specialist.  “I got on the phone with one of our largest suppliers, Crown Products, and they were also eager to help.”  On August 7th, Backpack Buddies Club gave out 739 backpacks filled with school supplies to some great and appreciative kids.

It can be a challenge for some families to pull together the list of supplies needed for the school year.  Two sisters were looking for a service project for their children. They wanted them to learn how to work and how to serve other people. As a result, Backpack Buddies was born.  Once a quarter, they drop off backpacks filled with various comfort and basic care items to food pantries and to local homeless shelters in the Northwest Suburbs of Illinois. They want every homeless child to have his "own" backpack which can be his "home" away from home.
