Pencils Engraving – Great for Kids and Adults

In the mid 1800’s, William Monroe, a cabinetmaker invented a machine that cut wood into slats that was precise enough to be used as pencils. This was one of the first pencils made in the United States. It was not until Joseph Dixon developer a method that allowed pencils to be cut into half, graphite added and then re-glued that a method of mass production in the US was developed.
